Maytag machines we take
The Maytag reputation for lasting brought a lot of these washers and dryers into Olympia basements and garages, and many are still there twenty years later.

There are three Maytags in Olympia. The first is the old Dependable Care top-loader with the wide agitator, still churning in Eastside basements and Ken Lake garages and asking only for a belt and a water valve every decade. The second is the Neptune front-loader from the early 2000s, with its door boot and wax motor, now rare but stubbornly alive. The third is the modern Bravos, Centennial or Commercial Technology top-loader, and the matching dryer, both sharing parts with the rest of the Whirlpool family and both fond of showing a code when the shift actuator or lid lock gives up. We fix all three and stock for the last.
The truck starts on Woodland Square Loop, just off I-5 at exit 108, and the business is independent, unattached to Maytag or its parent. Diagnosis is $99: a technician with instruments at the washer or dryer, the broken component identified, and a repair total written out for you to accept or refuse. Accept and the $99 is treated as money already paid toward that total. Refuse and $99 is your complete bill. Laundry appointments land inside the week; if you also own a Maytag refrigerator and it has gone warm, calling before noon gets it looked at the same day.

Basement laundry in the older neighborhoods is the local challenge. A South Capitol or Eastside Craftsman puts the Maytag pair at the bottom of a narrow stair on a slab that has settled, and a top-loader that was level in 2005 walks and thumps now, which is why suspension repairs there always end with a level and a set of shims. Dryer vents from those basements travel a long way to daylight and load up with lint, so a Maytag thermal fuse is a warning as much as a part. North of the city on Cooper Point and out toward Steamboat Island, well water full of iron leaves rust streaks in Maytag tubs and slowly plugs the inlet screens, and propane dryers there run yellow when a conversion was skipped.
What you can expect from us is consistent across every Maytag visit. The invoice you receive is printed with a warranty period covering both the component and the work. Anything we have to order rides back with us on a date we arrange, without a line on your bill, and the total you approved stays the total. Landlords with Maytag-equipped rentals near Evergreen or downtown can give approval over text and take the invoice by email, with any entry code deleted when the job is done. We are an independent shop; if your Maytag is still inside the maker's coverage, we tell you before spending your money, since that route may cost you nothing at all.
That behavior on a Bravos or Centennial usually means the shift actuator cannot confirm the machine's position, so the control waits. Sometimes the lid lock is at fault instead. We test both, and an actuator is a routine replacement. The washer will often finish a cycle after a power reset, which is a clue, not a cure.
Because restricted airflow is overheating the dryer, and a new fuse without a vent fix lasts only a few weeks. Long vent runs from Eastside basements and under west-side decks pack with lint, and a crushed flex duct behind the dryer does the same. We measure the airflow and tell you exactly what the duct needs.
Sometimes. Door locks, drain pumps and boots are available and the drum is well built. Control board failures on the earliest units are the weak point, and a few boards can be repaired at the relay level. We tell you what we find and what it would cost, and the $99 covers that answer if you decide to stop there.
AF stands for airflow, and the dryer is telling you its exhaust is restricted. It is safe to pull the dryer forward and check for a kinked or crushed duct. If the duct looks fine, the blockage is farther along the run or the blower wheel has come loose, and both are things we check on the visit.
Yes, and landlords are a regular part of our Maytag work. We coordinate with the tenant for access, text the owner a written repair total to approve, and email the invoice once the work is done. Any door or gate code the owner shares is discarded when we close the ticket.
