The Bosch range is a European machine built for the American slide-in slot, and it behaves like one. The gas cooktop uses a spark module that reigites any burner whose flame goes out, which is wonderful until a damp igniter makes every burner click at once. The induction models sense the pan through the glass and refuse to heat anything they do not recognize. The oven runs on a touch control that reports faults as E-codes with four digits on the newer models and three on the older.

One burner or all of them spark continuously, knobs off, usually following a boil-over or a wet cleaning. Bosch reignition fires whenever a flame is lost, so a wet or cracked igniter, a spark switch shorted by moisture, or a failing spark module keeps it going. We dry and test the igniters, check each burner switch, change a dead module, then seat the burner caps so the flame stays lit.
The zone shows the pan symbol and never heats, or cuts out a minute in. Sometimes the pan is at fault, lacking a flat ferrous base of the right diameter. When a magnet sticks to the pan and the zone still refuses, the induction generator for that side of the cooktop or the sensor beneath the glass has failed. We test the generators and swap the dead one.
E011 means the control has seen a touch held down for too long. Water on the glass after wiping, a warped panel, or a failing touch control all produce it. We clean and dry the panel first, since that clears many, then test the touch module and the connection to the power board, and replace the touch module when it is genuinely faulty rather than merely damp.
The oven bakes unevenly and the fan at the back is quiet, or it runs with a rattle that worsens as it heats. Bosch convection motors sit behind the rear wall and their bearings dry out; a blade bent by a dropped rack rattles too. We pull the back panel, replace motor or blade, and check the fan relay when the motor tests fine but never runs.
The gas oven is slow to catch, or lights and then loses its flame mid-bake. The hot-surface igniter has weakened, or on propane houses toward Griffin and Summit Lake the conversion was done without the correct oven orifice and the flame lifts off the burner. We measure igniter current, check the orifice size against the fuel, and correct both.
E115 in most cases means the oven overheated or the control believes it did; E118 means the touch control and the power board have stopped talking. The first sends us to the temperature sensor and the heating relays, the second to the ribbon cable and connectors between the two boards, which corrode in a steamy kitchen. We test rather than replace, because these boards are not cheap.

On a Bosch range the diagnostic is $99. That covers a technician and meter at the range, the failed component identified in plain terms, and a repair figure written down before anything is ordered. Proceed and that written figure is understood to contain the $99; stop and the $99 is the sum total. Nothing is added for the drive anywhere in our Olympia ring from the Woodland District shop, and if Bosch's own coverage still applies we point that out first.
Bosch ranges are booked inside the week, and igniters, spark modules and convection motors ride with us; an induction generator or touch module usually has to be ordered, and its installation visit is scheduled by us with no extra line on the invoice. The printed warranty term covers part and labor. Eld Inlet second-home owners can text their approval and get the invoice emailed.
Because the spark module fires every igniter together whenever any burner switch closes, and a shorted switch or a wet igniter looks like a closed switch. It usually follows a boil-over or an enthusiastic cleaning. Let it dry for a day with the breaker off; if it persists, one igniter or switch has failed and we replace it.
First check the base of the pan with a magnet and make sure it is centered on the zone and flat. If the pan is right and the zone still shows the pan symbol, the induction generator or pan sensor for that zone has failed. We test the boards and replace only the one for the affected zones.
In most cases it means a key on the touch panel has been detected as held down for longer than the control allows. Moisture on the glass is the usual cause, and a thorough dry with the power off often clears it. If it keeps returning with a dry panel, the touch control module is failing and we replace it.
Yes, and we do it carefully. Slide-ins are leveled to the counter and often sit within a few millimeters of the stone on both sides. We protect the floor and the counter edges, lift rather than drag, and note the leveling so the range goes back exactly where it was. If the anti-tip bracket was never installed, we say so.
If you are at Summit Lake, out Delphi Road, on Steamboat Island or around much of Black Lake, it should be, and sometimes it is not. A range still on natural gas orifices burns propane with a tall yellow flame and soots the pots. We check the orifice stamps and the flame, and correct a conversion that was done incompletely.
